I have 14 Silkies and 14 other larger breeds incubating together. In the past I've noticed that my Silkies hatch about a day or two before the others. I remember being surprised to see the little buggers hanging out in between the egg turners.

But now I'm concerned. I don't have another incubator so I don't know how I could put the Silkies in lockdown separately a couple days before the others.

Any advice?

If your last batch hatched fine I wouldn't worry about it. "Lock down" is more for stability with temp and humidity. Setting hens roll the eggs even as they're hatching, and they're the experts.

I haven't done any in in incubator yet but under a broody it has always been fine. lol. Like the PP said, if it was fine when you did it before I wouldn't worry too much. Good luck!
