I'm getting Chukar eggs tomorrow, shipped from ebay seller. I have a forced air, table top styrofoam incubator, without automatic turner. I'll be laying the eggs on their sides. I've recently been reading about putting eggs in an egg carton the last three days to get a better hatch, but all of those people had used an automatic turner throughout the incubation period. I also read that if I left them on their sides during incubation, I should leave them on their sides the last three days too. So my question is, should I use the egg carton method, or leave them on their sides the last three days? I appreciate any answers. :pop

Eggs that are hatch under a hen are on their sides so it should be fine.I have never heard of the egg carton thing.I would think the cardboard would also take moister out of the incubator. If you hand turning your eggs,I would stop that 3 days prior as again the moister will escape.Your humidity should be around 60 percent during hatch.Good luck and let us know how your hatch went.
