i have two female ducks and one drake one female just started laying again a few days ago so im getting one egg a day i checked when i went to cook one and it was fertile i want to incubate atleast a dozen of them maybe more...but as i said im getting one egg a day so it would take me two weeks to collect enough to incubate...how do i go about storing them until ive collected them all? someone told me if i put them in the fridge they will go "dormant" and then i can just pull them put and theyll hatch...but i always thought putting them in the fridge stopped the proccess not paused it. any advice? im not sure why my other female isnt laying but even if ahe starts i dont think they will be fertile because my malehas seemed to pair off with the laying female and i notice thw none laying female by herself a lot

I find my duck eggs stay "good" for longer than chicken eggs (supposedly chicken eggs, after 10 days start to loose their viability).

Store them in an egg carton with the fat side up, pointy end down, in a coolish location (about 45 to 60F).

At least once a day, (but several times a day is better) rotate the eggs. I just alternate which end of the egg carton that I prop up with a big book.

You could also buy a few fake eggs that you put where ever your duck is laying. Maybe she will decide to incubate if she gets enough eggs and do all of the work for you.

Good luck! :D

thank you i figured it wasnt safe to store on the fridge ill try the fake eggs first thanks again
