Incubating eggs with egg carton - can i use ice cube trays???

I'm throwing away tons of egg cartons after each hatch and I had an either brilliant or dumb idea...ice cube trays.

I searched here and even google and found nothing talking about whether it would be ok to hatch them in these trays. I would drill a few holes in each tray for air and drainage during hatch - would this work? will the plastic not do good at 100 degrees? Anyone tried this?

Those would be some tiny eggs to fit in ice cube trays?? Hmm. I don't know. I am hatching in egg carton as we speak. Good luck!
