incubating in an egg carton

I poked a eraser sized hole thru the bottom of my styrofoam cartons. I didn't want a bigger size hole to keep cleanup easier.

i made a smal hole on the bottom as well...i like using the egg carton method...works well...easy clean up and not to messy...they also hatch out just fine....

Yep, poke the hole and I cut my edges down quite a bit. I have left the edges too tall and it seemed too tall for some of the chicks while picking at their eggs.

good luck

The cartons sit in a rack that I built. The whole thing turns. The trays that are in the pic are for quail eggs but I'm incubating chicken eggs right now.

I've always used the egg carton method since my first hatch. I love it! I don't have to deal with the huge mess everybody complains about
