Incubating Mallard eggs

I am new to the incubating process and have had limited success. I have a Farm Innovators with fan and automatic egg turner. I have been able to regulate the temp and humidity pretty well. My problem has been when it come time for lockdown. Just prior to turning off the turner i have had an egg start to pip and i am concerned about moving them out of the turner at that stage. I only had one hatch from my first batch of a dozen eggs and don't want a repeat with the second batch that is doing the exact same thing. any help would be greatly appreciated..

I am not a hatcher but @madamiec is, and so is @Amykins there is also a hatching forum, and there may be some duck people there.
