Hi,

I'm using the Brinsea Octagon 10, manual turning 3 times a day. I seriously having problems with the humidity. Since last friday I've got 8 eggs in it but I can only see two yolks at this moment although it's abit early to check the eggs at this point.

I've read some good hatching story's on the BR mini advanced but overhere the almost cost about $ 179,28 dollars ( the price is € 133,95 euros). I was wondering if someone could give me some links to American webshops because I believe it's cheaper to be overthere then here in the Netherlands.

Well from the 8 egg only 4 are fertile. But the humidity stocks at 34 %... no matter what I do. Only 7 days left to see if there are any live chicks peeping out. I'm hoping but this was the mean reason to get a new Incubator.

I just bought online the Brinsea mini advanced , hoping to get better results with that one. As soon as it's there i.m trying again.

I have a home made incubator and I struggle to get my humidity over 35% no matter how much water I put in the thing. Mine are developing great and should start hatching this weekend, so not sure how to be helpful to you. But there is a link on dry incubation under the learning center. That might help you.

Maybe you could look on eBay's American site for cheaper incubators. I'm in the UK and I've bought stuff from America that way before. Even with airmail shipping fees it's usually cheaper than buying from UK suppliers. Just remember to count in Customs and import tax though when working out costs...

There are lots of ways to get humidity up - you can run a humidifier in the room your incubator is in, or add a sponge (or...I use a maxi pad!!) to your incubator; in my Brinsea, it has a vent hole tht I can stick a straw through to re-wet the pad or sponge.
