The rails were popped out of the track and did not turn for the first 4 days of incubation. Out of 100 bobwhite quail eggs I see movement in 44 of them. If they are stuck to the side of the egg would I still see movement? The remaining eggs I see veins but that is all. They were set exactly 7 ago. Should I have hope or give up and start over? I was hoping for a good hatch with this batch and then this happened. Please advise.

I have not turned them for 3 days on purpose with no harm done.. don't know haw bad the extra day could be on them. but I think you will be O.K.

You should incubate them still. They should be fine. The purpose of turning is for the embryo to get fresh nutrients each time turned. Once the rails start turning, it will get to normal. I wouldn't worry.

Not ideal, but not deadly.
Let er...ride!

Just remember that when you post your followup thread in 19 or so days from now. We will all want to see pics of the fuzzy butts.

It's just in our nature.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for all the replies. I am hoping for the best outcome. I'll be sure to come back and update and hopefully have a bunch of fuzzy butts to share.
