Hi all, so I’m incubating some shipped eggs in my brinsea mini advance. The temperature is set to 37.5 degrees Celsius, humidity is around 45-50% because I candled on day 7 and some of the air cells were saddled and looked too big for day 7. The eggs are set to turn every hour. I candled today and wasn’t sure if the air cell size is correct for day 13, I will candle all of the eggs again tomorrow on day 14 and adjust humidity based on the air cell size. Because these are shipped eggs when candling I’ve kept them on their sides as they are in the incubator because I don’t want to disturb them or move them around too much. Will turning them so that the air cell end of the egg is on the bottom when candling hurt the growing chick inside the egg? I don’t candle for long only until I see some movement or can see some veins. If some of the normal shaped air cells are too small should I move them to my other incubator where the humidity is around 30-35%. They have been laying flat and my other incubator holds them upright will the change in position cause damage or stop the chick developing. I look forward to reading any tips and advice on incubating and hatching shipped eggs. Thanks in advance. I’ve attached some pictures of air cells please let me know if they are a suitable size for day 13.

Hi there. Honestly, I prefer to incubate shipped eggs upright. I think at this point you're only a few days from lockdown and they're developing so why change it? It wouldn't hurt to have 2 incubators and separate them due to differences in air cell size. Or, you can try to reach a happy medium and hope for the best.

I'm not sure about turning upside down to candle though, I just never have.

I’m going to candle again today and move eggs which have smaller air cells to the incubator running at a lower humidity
