I'm having a hard time keeping humidity up, seems like the water is being eaten away quickly. I opened the incubator today to add water because i had been using a syringe and tubing to add but couldn't tell how much water was really in there. But I looked into 2 eggs quickly and have little dark spots in each. one was kinda moving about like side to side even when the egg was sitting still, they are brown eggs and hard to see into. Here's what I hoping is a chick dose it look like the start of one? Little dark spot, my light and camara were not cooperating today lol.

There's a few veins. I have to get a better light I have to beat the crap out of it to even get it somewhat bright enough to see.

Try cutting a 2 inch square cube out of a new sponge and placing it where you can insert a straw to add water directly over the sponge. I find that I can keep the humidity where I want it when I use a sponge. I have a very small funnel that I attach to the end of the straw (I have the Slurpee sized straws ;) ) Good luck with your hatch!!

I'll try that. But the eggs are in a turner. I would have to remove the turner to set the sponge at the bottom. Dunno if that would be a good thing. Maybe a slim lid off a container (yougurt container) would work under the Turner? Then add water to that?

I put my sponge under the turner under an empty slot so the water doesn't touch the eggs...sorry I forgot to say that. You can lift the turner carefully and slide the sponge under the turner (I did that with my very first hatch when I couldn't keep the humidity up). If you don't want to try lifting the turner, you can cut the sponge smaller, like in two one inch pieces and squeeze them through two empty slots. Just some suggestions.

I will do that I have a few slots that aren't occupied. Not sure why humidity is such a issue, especially since humidity in my house alone is very high. Incubator is in a room that stays at 67°f with a humidity in the room being at 78%. So weird how things work.
