I've just got a new incubator and set some eggs yesterday at midday using the built in thermometer and an extra thermometer I added inside. However I was suspicious that the second thermometer might not be totally accurate so I ordered a third kitchen style thermometer which I could test in boiling water to make sure it is 100% right. Unfortunately this was delivered late so I went ahead and set the eggs yesterday as I said.

Well today the new thermometer came and I tested everything and it turns out the thermometer I had been using inside the incubator since yesterday was very inaccurate!

I've calculated that the actual temperature inside the incubator was only 96 degrees F for almost exactly 24 hours.

Does this mean my eggs are ruined?:fl

In my experinces, that's not likely to have caused any problems. I'm going to guess you have it set at the right temp now? Do you have an independent calibrated hygrometer as well? Foam bators are notorious for having defective digital readings.

Thanks for the replies! Yes i have the temperature correct now and hopefully it should stay right for the rest of the incubation period. I have two separate hygrometers inside which read the same so I think the humidity is OK.
I will candle the eggs on day 4 to check for viability.
