Do you count 21 days, the DAY you put your eggs into the incubator? Just wondering because so far my eggs, all gathered fresh the day they were laid, and a day later they all were put into the incubator at the same time, and all of them hatched at different days, the last one being a week from its due date. Im confused, good thing i decided to wait and see what happens, otherwise I would have been short a chick..LOL

I count 21 days from the day after you put them in the incubator. Yeah! I have decided that it's a good thing to wait 25 days total because I always have 2 or 3 late bloomers. But it's just so much fun

Hope that helps.

There is a thread on here somewhere that says, an easy way to know your hatch date is to remember, they will hatch on the same day you put them in. If you set them on a Sunday, they will hatch on a Sunday.

I am wondering about this too

. Only I have my hen sitting on them. On the 21st day all of mine hatched (April 6th)except for three. Then the next day another hatched (April 7th) and the next day another(April 8th). I still have one under the hen. I thought that it might start peeping today... but I haven't noticed anything. Hmmm... I am not sure what to do. The hen seems to be getting restless and wanting to get up. I want the last egg to hatch

Any advice??

you know, this can be fustrating as all heck! LOL I have a second batch that was due today...unfortunatlly,no go. I did see however a few eggs roling a bit, so a good sign I guess. Then when they pip, just how long does it take them to start working their way around the shell? I must admit, the last time i was a hands on gal, i helped most of them out (shame on me I know) A few got out themselves, but the others I felt were just taking to long and I didnt want them to die in their shells. I know, i should let nature takes it's course, but I just couldnt bare it. My first hatch and all.

However this time I am not going to do that, but maybe last time it was because I was a bit nieve about how long it takes for a chick to actually break thru its shell fully, onced it has pipped. Anyone? an hour, 2, maybe longer? Once i know what to expect time wise, I can be prepared to wait my impatient butt! LOL

By the way, thank you for the advice!

I had one pip sometime last night between 12 midnight and 6 am, that one is still in. I had another one pip around noon today, that one is still in and the 3rd one just pipped about 30 minutes ago! I've read that it can take 24 + hours from pip to hatch.

24 hours? good lord......I am going to have to tie my hands then LOL......and are all yours still moving and chirping? even though they are still in?

Not always but if not Sunday then maybe Monday or Tuesday. I had one EE hatch and then the other 5 the next day. Give them a couple of days after. Some are just slower hatchers than others. Temps to low can make them late, temps to high can make the early. It all depends on how good the egg is.

Yes..well I am hatching them in an egg carton so they aren't moving much but lots of chirping and the 1st one is working on it's hole again. It is so hard....all this waiting!!! I keep talking to them and saying "Come on babies, peep peep peep" To the 'normal' world I may look like a wacko but if a momma hen can communicate with her babies at this time, so can I
