Hey everyone!!
I'm only fairly new to all this incubating stuff! But, the incubator I have purchased is a tad dodgy I think, I set the temp to 37.5celcius but the digital thermometer that I purchased separately and put inside says 33.4 Celsius.. Which one should I believe? I'm really confused! ANY help will be greatly appreciated! I will attach a picture of the incubator I have purchased! THANKS :)

I don’t recognize that photo. Is that a forced air (with a fan) or a still or thermal air incubator? If it is a forced air it doesn’t matter where you take the temperature, it should be the same all over. But hot air rises. In a still air it is very important where vertically you take the temperature. So that could be one issue.

Thermometers are not always accurate. Due to manufacturing tolerances they can be off quite a bit. Next time you are in a store that sells the outside thermometers look at the ones on the shelf. Thermometers of the same brand lying on the same shelf in an air conditioned store can read several degrees different. I’ve seen 5 degrees C difference in thermometers on the same shelf. Just because something is “digital” doesn’t make it accurate. The thermometers that come with incubators can be just as inaccurate.

Before you trust any thermometer or hygrometer you need to calibrate it. These might help you with that.

It's one of the Janoel knockoffs. I believe forced air. They are known to be off on their readings. My nephew bought one a month or so ago and had the same problem. Like Ridgerunner said, calibrate/check your independent thermometer and go by that.
