I started a small number of quail eggs in the incubator two weeks ago. As my 3 hens lay more (3 TO 1) I have been adding them to the incubator at a pace of one to two a day. I mark them with a date so I will know when to stop turning them and put them in the hatchery in the same order. Question: Is this going to work? I just don't have enough eggs to put them in at one time and I don't want them going bad waiting. Thanks

I am basically doing the same thing with gambel and pheasant eggs and it seems to be working fine. I know theres lots of different op ions on here about "lock downs". One gentleman said that he has been hatching eggs for 50 years and never herd of lock downs until he came on this site 5 months ago. I guess what ever works for you is right. I leave mine in the bator at 99.4 and 53% humidity and keep turning every 3 hours until I see a pip. Then I place them in the hatcher at 98 and 76% humidity. I place about 6 or 8 eggs in the incubator at a time and it seems to be working ok for me.
