Hi

I´ve been reading this forumn for months now but this is my first post :)

I am on day 6 with my 3rd batch of white shell chicken eggs so candling is easy.
But ... today when I candled my eggs, two of them look like day 14 eggs, almost filled with "stuff". The remaining eggs look like they should on day 6 eggs, half full/half seethrough with veins and a swimming dot. On my two previous attempts all eggs were similar except the clear ones that were infertile and then a few that stopped developing but never have I seen an overly developed egg.

Has anyone experienced something like this? They do not smell bad but I am still thinking they must be bad.

Yes, one of my hens is broody but in the past when I have separated her from the other hens she goes crazy.
For this batch I collected eggs from the coop every day so she was just laying on them for hours before I collected them. It took me about 5 days to collect eggs for the incubator and once collected they sat on the table top at temperature no more then 75°.

If these eggs are 5 days ahead (which they do look like) it means they started developing under the hen and then survived and continued developing on the table top for 5 days before going into the incubator, doesn't that sound really far fetched!

I did candle them again just now and there was visible movement in one of them. Maybe it looks overly developed because it has twins :)

Twins would be awesome!

I agree, it is far fetched that they went ahead.
