I would love to get as many chicks per setting of eggs as possible (don't we all!).
I thought of something that might help since I mostly hatch Bantam eggs......Quail egg racks! See, I have a Hova-Bator with automatic turner, and I have been using the regular racks that come with it, but then I saw these replacement Quail eggs racks (sold in sets of 6) and wondered if my Bantam eggs would fit in them???
Does anyone know about this?

Use ones for pheasants, eggs about the same as your bantam eggs.Quail eggs are alot smaller.

The jumbo quail eggs are about the same size as my bantam hens' eggs, but I have heard the jumbo eggs don't fit in them very well.

I didn't know there were pheasant racks, where do you get those at, and how many eggs do they hold?

The pheasant racks have, came with the used GQF sportsman I found, they are dk blue and culter does still have them.

I see you are asking about the yellow Hovabator turner and most of the replies have been about the trays as used in a Sportsman. I do have an idea for you, if you are pretty handy. Take a look at this goose egg setup for the Hova turner.

All they have done is changed the spacing on the bars and attached a trough of hardware cloth to the top of the regular egg turner pieces.

Now suppose you took some hardware cloth and did the same thing, but closed up the ends. Then divided the middle up kind of like an ice cube tray to hold the eggs upright.

I'm imagining 4 bars holding 2 rows of 8 eggs each. That would up your capacity from 42 eggs to 64.
