I am having trouble with the temp spiking (102-104) in my incubator and I can't get the humidity up (staying at 34%). I am using a 1602n Hovabator....any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I borrowed one of those from a friend and he told me to put books on the viewing windows to cover them and that helps with the humidity problem. As far as the temp spike, I can only say either more adjustment is still needed or is it plugged into a surge protector? Maybe power surges are causing it (just a guess) .

But will 104 degrees kill my incubation or will it be ok until I go get a new thermometer and humidity gage?

I will try the books over windows right n ow, thanks!

If it stays at 104 then I would say yet it will kill them eventually. If it was just a spike then it may not. I would adjust the temp back down. A little cooler is better than a lot hotter. Some of my best hatches have been when my bator was running a little on the cool side.

I am starting to think it is the thermometer they sent with the egg turner, so I am going to buy another thermometer, any suggestions?
