If you have fertilized eggs do you have to put them in an incubator or can you just let the hen sit on them until they hatch?

Hi,

It depends on if I have a hen that's broody, If I do, then I would let her set unless I had reasons not too.

I love seeing baby chicks along side their mother.

(And it saves me some work too

If your hen is broody, she will do a much better job than an incubator. She will go broody when she has a large enough clutch of eggs in her preferred nest. However, some breeds of chickens are non-setters (leghorns, and many other egg producing breeds). Bantam hens are usually excellent setters, and do a great job of raisnig chicks. Good luck!
