Incubator questions.

I know my chicken facts, and i can hatch eggs like a madman, but the incubator itself i am still learning. My incubator is going downhill, the fan doesnt work anymore and the temp is not a constant one, and my turner is shot...My question is how important is the fan? If i buy a new still air incubator, should i throw more money in to buy a fan to install?

I was just thinking that IF you could FIX the temperature problem with this incubator by PERHAPS getting a new wafer, then you could use this "old incubator" as a hatcher and incubate the eggs in the new incubator that you are considering purchasing.
(You wouldn't need the "broken" egg turner in a hatcher.)

Also thinking that maybe the temperature is "acting up" because the fan is not working. Perhaps if the fan WAS working, your wafer thermostat would function correctly......

I dunno, just tossing up ideas.
