Our temperature is about 30 degrees now and i noticed the new chicks are staying away form the lamp as its 32 degrees in the
shed i am using
Also the incubators temps have gone up
What do you do to keep the temp down
I have put a fan in the shed .
The shed is brick built 4 mtr x 4mtr so not small
I have open the window but i am worried about a cat or something getting in
Any advice please

Open windows and ventilation is good. Do you have wire you can put over the window temporarily to keep animals out?

How old are the chicks?

Make sure they have plenty of water, and can get away from the heat lamp, and that you've got ventilation. A fan is good to circulate the air, but be sure they can get out of the draft if they're feeling chilled ( which they might if they're very young)

I'm not good with celsius temps--- do you know the equivalent in Farenheit for 30 or 32 degrees? I know it's hot, that's all I know

Leave the window open, and fix wire mesh over it to prevent 'visitors', and also you can simply turn off the heat light! It's warm here (about 18/19C every day, and around 22-23C in the brooding shed so I turn off the heat lamp during the day. Mine are only eight days old and they are doing just fine....

FYI 30* Celsius = 86* Fahrenheit
32* " = 89.6 "

Those temperatures are not too hot for chicks, especially with a fan's being used. Can't you put up some kind of wire to keep cats and rats and snakes or any other predator out of the shed?
