Hi guyz...

I made a forced air incubator with form box. I setup 20 eggs on 11th of August. But after 8 days I realized that 7 eggs were stopped developing. So I thrown them away. Now 13 eggs remaining. Temperature of my incubator was set to 37.6 C to 37.9 C. But when I check the temperature with my hygrometer, it shown 39.4 C which is too much of heat for this hatching purpose.

I confused with this. I think this may be the reason for above incident. So I reduce my thermostat temperature to 37.3 C. Now hygrometer shows the temperature variation as 37.6 to 37.9 C.

Please help me to solve this issue. How to find the correct remperature reading..

My English is not good. SORRY FOR THAT.

How many thermometers do you have in there that you trust? & are they at egg level?

It’s not unusual to have more than one thermometer in your incubator which can help you to understand what is going on & make sure your readings are at the same level as the eggs as temperatures can vary around your incubator - you want to try to understand what the situation is for the eggs, sometimes thermometers near the “windows” are away from egg level and aren’t so helpful.

After this incident, it is not possible to determine the trusted one. But yes, both of the thermometers are at egg level..

I think my heat source also doing the job wrong.. I replaced my heat bulb with a CFL bulb. My thermostat detects the temperature as 37.6 C, but I think my heating bulb getting heated so much. And release all the heat to the box even though bulb is OFF. Now it seems good.

Any other suggestions?
