Day 10 of incubation: My incubator worked perfectly the last time I incubated. This time, I cannot keep the temperature at the correct spot. (Of course because last time I just had BYM eggs in there, and now I have an expensive fancy breed lol). Anyways, it fluctuates CONSTANTLY from 97.5F to 101.5F. Sometimes it is at the sweet spot. I have thermometers in there, so I am not going by what the incubator says (for context). I checked yesterday morning and it was at 97.5. I turned it up ONE notch, and when I got home from work 3 hours later, it was at 101.3ish. I turned it back down, and it went back down to 97.5. So, again, I turned it up one notch, and this morning it was up to 101.5. I turned it down again before coming back to work from lunch. Not sure what it is at now. I have tried keeping the styrofoam on it, taking it off, covering it with a towel, uncovering it, moving the incubator in a whole new room, etc. I feel like I have tried everything. So now I have a question. Will this kill my chicks? I candled them today during lunch & everyone seems to be thriving and moving around in there. I hope they will be okay?
