I have chicken and guinea eggs in the incubator. I had 2 hens go broody. I set up my brooder box with 2 large boxes side by side and put the chickens in each. I loaded them up with the eggs that were a week away from hatching. They kept rolling out and one chicken broke open a couple of eggs.
I added a smaller box inside of the big box to keep the chickens in a more secure area. They are still rolling out the eggs. We check on them every time that I go through the garage where they are laying. It is about 60-70 degrees in there. I candled the eggs yesterday and can see a little movement in some and removed the few that were not looking good. We are about 2 - 4 days away from hatching.
I had good luck last year letting my hens sit on the late Guinea Eggs. Only one had the keets survive, so this time I want to keep my chickens in the brooder box as long as possible. That is how the one chicken kept her keets and they still hang out with my chickens for part of the day. Their attitude is much nicer than the other guineas.

Will the eggs still hatch if they get cold?
Should I keep the chickens separated? There should be enough room for each one to have separate quarters. I have more eggs in the incubator scheduled to hatch within the next week.
