I have a homemadee cabinet incubator. It has served me well for a couple years.
I rarely check my incubator, eggs in every week, eggs out to lockdown every week, that's about it. I only candle at lockdown, and not always then.

I checked it a few days ago and it was 115. My fan was overheating.

As I was tossing the eggs, one cracked and lo and behold the embryo was moving! The temp must have been 103+ for a couple days.

Long story shortened, I candled, put the developing eggs back in after disconnecting the fan. Maybe a miracle will hatch. If not, at least I know what went wrong.

that happened to us last year. Not sure how long it was that way but the babies turned out fine! Keep your hopes up!

Update: there were two batches in the incubator. The batch last week hatched 1/9.

This week I got 8/14. There were two more that hatched but died in the incubator.

I'm amazed anything survived being cooked!
The hardiness of some things to survive is amazing. Glad you had a few survivors :)

Considering I attempt to raise for hardiness, this is a good thing. I try not to assist hatches or baby my birds. Surprisingly few of my adult birds have issues, other than the occasional predator loss. Heat, cold, wind, rain, ice, they go through it all. They are treated far more like they were years ago.
This isn't too say I mistrest them, BTW, they have constant food, water, shelter, get lots of treats in the form of weeds and scraps and come running to the fence any time I go outside, they just aren't pick up friendly. I love my birds. Hopefully in a few days I'll be able to post a pick of the survivors.

Yeah, I understand. It's why I love ducks so much. They are super easy care. I like my birds hardy as well. I only help slightly with hatch if I feel it's necessary, not often.
