How old do the have to be before you can introduce runner ducklings to the water? Mine just hatched from an incubator. Thanks

they are like any other duck that aren't with it's mother. mine were a week old when i started supervising them in a baking dish of water.

I would wait until they were about 2 - 3 weeks old, just to be on the safe side. At 2 weeks old their oil glands should be in, and they'll be able to put oil on their feathers to protect them from the water.

If you have a way to dry them off quickly, you can let them play in water when they are a bit younger.

Mine were a week old when I let them have a supervised swim in my sink....they loved it.

ETA: they only swam about 7minutes then I dried them off and put them back under their heat lamp.
