Hi, I put 6 white Indian runner duck eggs in the incubator yesterday and today I noticed that they are forming rough spots on the outer shell. Is this normal? I know it is still early days yet but I am a bit worried. It is not crystals. The temp in the incubator is correct (99.5°F) and the humidity is right around 45-55%. I give them a mist (which the spray bottle is kept in the incubator so it is the same temp as the eggs) every time I turn them which is 5-7 times a day. Am I doing everything right? Is everything going to be okay? Should I be worried? These rough spots were not there yesterday before I put them into the incubator. Is this normal? I am worried. If you can help I would really appreciate it. SEE PICS BELOW...<3 Thanks a bunch.

are you able to wipe it off? if you can i would. don't give up put more eggs in and see if they get spots. at day 5-7 candle them if there isn't a dark spot (not the yolk) then i would still leave them but don't expect anything. candle the eggs you put in after as well. candle all the eggs so you know you didn't just candle an infertile egg.

Hi, Thank you. I am not able to wipe it off :(. It is just a rough patch on the outer shell that wasn't there before. I plan to add some more eggs when they arrive on Tuesday. It doesn't seem to be spreading or getting any worse. Someone suggested that it may just be the wax coating from when the egg was laid? I haven't got a clue what it is. I have never seen anything like it before.
