Need some opinions on this one.
We have a speckled sussex hen who is about 8-10 months (assuming seller was honest), shes been with the flock for over 3 months, she is a successful layer, lays almost daily, she is a welcome part of the flock & has established pecking order. The rooster is a successful breeder, its definitely not him. She allows him to mount her & we haven't noticed any issues in that department.
However, this is now the 2nd month I've attempted to incubate her eggs & every single one is a no go. Every egg of hers that I crack does not have a fertile ring, I just chuck a few of hers into incubators when I'm hatching in hopes I'll get a lucky egg. I'd absolutely love to get little minis of her.
What are your thoughts?
