Hello all,

I am hatching eggs of my Brahma , 5 day . I candled those but didn't find any development . Clear yolks. This is third batch with same result.

What should I do. Is there a issue with my hen or rooster.

What.might be the causes for infertility in birds?

Any help or suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

How many days of incubation before candling? If candling at day 5, it is likely too soon. Try at 7-10 days instead. Depending on breed, egg color can impact ease of candling too. When you crack an egg for breakfast, do you see the white fuzzy halo of the fertilized bullseye?

Do you see the rooster mating the hens? Has he been crowing or maybe he isn’t feeling well?

Have you seen the cocks riding the females because if not the eggs will be infertile, try leaving it till day ten and see how you go.

Try plucking vent feathers on the rooster and hens. Due to all of the fluffiness he may not be 'making contact' when mating.
