Kites are neat birds, here in california I usually only see them near the coast. They seem to like the wind. Not much of a threat to chickens, maybe they would take a hatchling.
Do you have an Isbar rooster and have you tried hatching the eggs? I am curious if they are late to mature. It looks like my latest batch of 9 eggs were all infertile except one, the Isbar/Red mix that was a "quitter". I just candled them and it is day 7/8. Looks like he quit at around 5 days.
I'm thinking I will wait at least another month to try again. Meanwhile I have a barnyard mix of a bunch of breeds randomly crossed and they are healthy little guys 1 week old.
