Thanks so many good ideas! I have had a few other people say to get a barn cat as well. I have bveen told the the signs of a good "mouser" are large ears and a long tail. I wonder if anyone else has heard that? I know it sounds silly but if someone would have told me before I got chickens that one of the signs of a good layer is a bright red comb I probably wouldn't have believed it, lol.

How about a Havaheart trap (or many)? I myself am very fond of mice. Field mice make good pets, we're lucky enough to have some scampering around... Poor kitty is tortured. I agree that if you feel you MUST kill the innocent (OK, NOT so innocent) little mousies, DON'T use bait. Mouse traps inside the coop are bad too (chickens peck bait, SNAP goes the trap).

oh sorry i should have said.. in my house the word "BUNNY" refeers to ANY rodent.. no mater how big or small...
my dogs know the word so well i have to SPELL it sometimes..
