Info on Quail Molting?

Two of my female quail seem to be molting, and I want to learn more about it.

I've heard about quail doing this regularly and read sentences like 'My Quail is due for a molt'.
Is this a normal thing?
I can't find much information on it on Google, but I'm about to check BYC articles.

They generally moult twice a year. Spring and Fall. They will look ratty and there will be feathers everywhere for a couple weeks.

Yes, it's a normal thing, as you put it! Depending on when they hatch will determine when they molt. Usually 2 times a year but some times it may not be that noticeable and other times it will be very obvious.

I replied to the earlier post w/ pictures of one of my quail molting.
