Information and help needed to persuade city commission to allow chickens in the backyard

I live in Dodge City, Kansas and would like to persuade the city commissioners to modify the ordinances to allow chickens in the backyard of residential and all other zoned areas of the city. At present, chickens are only allowed in the areas which are zoned "agricultural use".

Can anybody guide me to websites that have materials used to promote such an ordinance?

You may also want to post on your state thread and see if others will rally round you to gain favorable notice from the city commission.

Greetings from Kansas, TJMalone, and . Pleased You joined our community! I'm a fellow Kansan but I live a pretty good spell from Dodge. I like Diva's advice about joining the Kansas thread...maybe there are some folks a little closer to your neck of the woods that have some advice. That and the link CuzChickens provided.
