So what’s everybody thought on emus?
what do u feed them?
what should their shelter be like in cold climates?
Are the mean?
Is a boy or a girl nicer?
should I raise one or two?
What animals do they get along with?

I've never owned one but from the research I did last year-

1. There's "Ratite" feed you can buy, which is specially made for them, not sure where you're located but I believe places like Wilco and Tractor Supply carry it or can order it?
2. They can be mean, just like all animals. I'm not sure exactly the best way to raise a nice one however, but they do certainly exist so it's possible to get a nice one : D
3. I think the boys are nicer?
4. I can't remember if they do well solo, when I was reading most people talked about doing pairs (1m 1f).

Others things to mention are, they need fairly high fences, plus they're strong so it needs to be a sturdy and fall fence. Good luck! : D

We no longer have emus but had them for a few years. You can purchase special ratite feed but they also do fine on dog food with supplemental feeds added. We actually offered free choice dog food and free choice alfalfa pellets and had no issues. Keep two, not just one. And, they do fine in cold climates just give them a dry place to escape the wind.
I used to walk mine to the lake regularly (you can train them to come back to your whistle) and they loved that.
