Inherited Duck Disease

to my own knowledge i do not know what diseases exactly can be spread by inheritance, possibly duck virus hepatitis, since it is caused by the bacterium herpes. But i am unsure, i was also interested in this suject a while back, i saved a folder of a few pages i had come across. heres two of them which are pretty useful:

http://www.runnerduck.net/diseases.htm

http://www.duckhealth.com/duckhlth.html
this website also lists toxins that cause disease that are bad for ducks.

preventing the diseases are pretty routine and simple, clean living area, proper food nutrition that is not stored damp so it doesnt create mold (and make sure wild animals cant get at it), dont let them drink stagnant water, change thier water often, not feeding them rotten vegetables/salad, as it can contain the bacterium's salmonella or e. coli. make sure hay or bedding is kept dry to prevent mold, which can create the fungi Aspergillus which can become fatal if ducks breath in the spores. and also the things that come into contact from the outside world that come into your farm area can affect them, like wild birds/animals, housing and almost anything.

good luck with your info search, and i hope your not searching because of a sick duck!

Thanks so much for the info! Don't worry I am not searching because of a sick duck. I am working on finishing one of my 4-H projects.
