One of my Hens ended up with an open wound under her ear lobe. The other hens were picking at it so I quarantined her. is this picture good enough to advise if she is ready to return to the flock or should I wait until it is completely 100% healed and gone? or do I need to get a better pic of the wound....

thanks!

Thanks for the replies! I decided to wait another day or two... hoping it will finish healing to the point of them leaving that spot alone. Really dont want to have to re-quarantine her another week or two because of the others pecking on that spot too much... would rather let it heal almost completely and be done with it..

thanks again!

Hoping that you left them next to each other but protected by a fence separating them? If you introduce chickens together we have found it easiest to have them living side by side establishing a pecking order ahead of time to reduce injury when they are fully integrated.

sadly, the run next to them was already being used by younger chickens so I had to put her in a box away from them... I did, however, re-introduce her last night.... they are re-establishing the pecking order, but so far dont seem to be picking on the injured part of her neck...so, so far, so good... will continue to watch her... thanks for the replies and help ya'll!!!
