Found a duck with its wing cut up pretty badly. What should I do feed wise and stuff like that to keep it comfortable until it heals. Its wing isn't broken but I can't use it obviously. Our local state park will allow me to release it back over there when it heals but until then I can't. They don't have a facility for injured animals and said it needs to be able to "fly away in case of danger" due to fishers and gators. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me but I want to keep this little guy safe.

I don't have any other ducks and haven't been around them in years I'm at a loss here someone please help

What type of duck? When you say cut half, what exactly is the injury? Muscle, feathers, bone, ,,,,which wing and where exactly on the wing?

Just left the vets office and he said it looks more like something attacked it and I don't know anything about duck but he gave me a cream to put on all the open wounds I didn't see on its stomach and under its wings.

Its other wing is completely normal but it has a good sized cut under it. It looked to me as if someone was trying to cut all the feathers off but I could be soooooo wrong

Nothing serious. Keep the sound clean as treat the duckling as normal. BTW, that is a domestic breed so it should not be released.

So should I find it a home instead of realising it? I can't keep it long term due to us moving a lot with work.

Yes, looks looks like a pekin so it will not be able to fly. Would be best to rehome.
