Injured duck

I found this morning an injured duck trying to cross the street. He had difficulties walking, there’s a possibility that his leg is broken or dislocated. He also has what looks like scrapes on his head and missing tail feathers. I picked him up and put him in a small rabbit cage so that he can rest for a few days. I will put food and water but I was wondering if there’s anything else I should do .

Give it protein and take it to the vet

I will give it protein but I cannot afford to take it to a vet. I live in Miami and vets here are very expensive. Thanks for the advise!
