One of my ladies has an injured foot. She got it caught in the door of the coop when I was closing them up and I didn't notice until a couple of hours later. She had a small scrape on the back of her leg above the heal area and her middle toe seemed to be swollen.

I thought she was going to heel fine, but today I noticed she was hardly walking and the swelling got worse today. Bad enough so that now its weeping fluid. I brought her into the house for the night in a kennel with fresh hay, food, and water w/ some ACV in it..

Anyone know what else I should do? I'm going to look for some neosporin to put on it right now.

Thanks for any help!

I just poured a handful in a bowl of warm water. There may be a suggested mixture listed on it???? Not sure. LOL After two soakings she had quit limping so at least it didn't hurt her and it made me feel like I was doing at least something useful.

Epsom salts work well. Also 30C Arnica in her water (about 5 grains per gallon) is amazing for reducing swelling. This is a homeopathic remedy that you can find at natural food stores for around $5.
