Injured hen-fall injury

We have an injured hen. It looks like she fell behind a feed barrell and got stuck. I dont have any idea how she managed to wedge herself back there. My mistake was thinking that the space was too small for it to be an issue.

The problem seems to be her leg. She is eating and drinking fine, and she can stand... But when she tries to take a step she falls over. She isnt making any noise like she is in pain or anything, but obviously something is seriously wrong. I have seperated her and put her in a crate in our house for tonight. Is there anything i can do?


She is one of our special hens.. Her name is Batman. I feel so bad that she is injured and it is my fault because i let their environment be unsafe.

Are you sure she didn't go back there to hide from being pecked at by other chickens?

Without an x-ray I don't think you'll really know whether it's just a strain or if there's a bigger problem. Hope someone with more knowledge comes along to help.

No, she was good and wedged in. I had to move the barrell to get her out.
