I had a hen that didn't seem right in my run. Put some staw down and placed her there. Later that evening found her in the run hurt apparently by anowhere hen. She had been bleeding and her comb was mostly cut off. I put her in our garage away from the flock. I'm guessing with the blood dried he has her eyes closed and the dried blood may be keeping her from opening her eyes I've tried warm water with a little peroxide but I can't seem to get the blood off. I've put Vaseline all over her head and around the eyes to help soften up the blood but that hasn't helped either. Any suggestions?

I would leave the wound alone except to spray it with something like Vetryicin. She needs to be treated for shock first of all with electrolytes and a little sugar in her water. Messing with her too much before that might stress her out and make the situation worse

Ouch. Looks like someone really did a number on her or maybe she got scalped by getting her head caught in wire. Keep the area clean with some plain neosporin. If she hasn't been eating or drinking I'd get some sugar water into her. Otherwise just let her rest. Hopefully she'll get over the shock and start feeling better tomorrow, though if she was seeming lethargic earlier she may have some other illness that needs to be addressed.

She's eating a drinking. I cooked her some oats she really liked that! Cleaned again this evening and put neosporin on her.

Can she see at all? If he eyes are stuck closed you can rinse them with saline or something like Bausch and Lomb eye relief eye wash. The plain Neosporin or Terramycin eye ointment from feed stores may be used in the eyes. I would use plain Neosporin on the rest of the scalp wounds. This will take weeks to get better, but she should recover. Was there any reason that they attacked her and hurt her so badly? I would be cautious in the future when time comes to reintroduce her, and do it very slowly over time with fencing between them. I have had to permanently separate a hen who was attacked by her flock. Feed her if she cannot see food until she heals some. Watery chicken feed, cooked egg, tuna, or canned cat food are all good to use in moderation.

I'm guessing they seen her weak (idk why she was acting weird) and started pecking her and once seen blood continued 😭 I am making sure she's eating and drinking and cleaning morning and evening. I will definitely get wound care spray and eye wash. I appreciate everyone's advice!
