Injured leg

Tonight I found my 7 month old peahen with a useless leg. It just dangled and she couldn't use it. I did not find any noticeable swelling. Her hock felt extremely loose with the leg dangling from it but no swelling. She seems miserable but she did eat. Understandably, she only wants to lie on the floor and not fly up as all the others do. I'm not sure how soon an appropriate vet would be available since it is Friday night. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Torn ligament. Needs surgery.

I agree, without surgery, it will need to be put down. It can take a year or more but the decaying leg will eventually lead to a degraded lifestyle bound to the ground being pecked on, walked on, and living in filth and pests.
