Rooster spur got stuck in fence and was hanging upside down. One leg appears to be injured at the hip area. He can't full stand on it and it goes out to the side. We have him resting as comfortable as possible. Not sure what to do.

Welcome. It almost sounds like it may be dislocated. Any pictures that you can provide would be helpful. Do you have a farm vet or emergency vet available? I would separate him in a basket or crate and offer him water with sugar 1 tsp per cup or electrolytes up to his beak. Position him on rolled towels or bedding. Try to position him where he is comfortable if possible. Was the spur ripped or bleeding? Is his leg discolored or cold compared to the other side? I hope that others with experience will chime in.

I will try to send pictures. The spur was not ripped off, but we went ahead and cut it off because it was long.No bleeding and his leg does not appear to be discolored or cold. Looking for a vet, but I don't think there are any for farm animals near me.

He is standing on it some now, but doesn't stand long. Will try to get better pictures.
