I have 2 chickens that are both injured, One was born May 25th, I came out yesterday and found her not able to walk correctly. On examination, I found that it looks like a chick with spradle leg when it's born. Can a pullet get a sprained leg at 6 weeks old? It is possible for this kind of injury in the cage she was in with others her age. No other symptoms. I brought her in and she wants to
walk but it still looks unmanageable to her. Then I went out and my hen is just laying on the dust area. She gets up and waddles over to me but she can't put weight on her legs to pull herself upright enough to walk upright normally. We have had a rooster want to jump on her this week and she practically stayed inside to stay away from him. Could he have jumped on her and injured her back? She looks like her back hurts. No other symptoms, eatting good. Just waddling around and not standing up, but no limping on her legs. Please help with some advice on where to go with these. Should I brace the pullet like I would if she had spradle leg?
Is there any hope for my hens back? Could it be just sprained? Will she recoop after something like that? There is no chicken vet
around here.
