Dear all! How can i fix my 2.5 weeks baby chick’s leg, mother ran over her when saw me bringing food 🙄 No swelling but cannot put weight on that leg, hopping on other, wing open helping to balance. If it was broken, would it swell up? I would be grateful for any advise! Many thanks 🙏

I’m sorry about your chick. If you are able to, post pics of the chick and her injured leg.

I just experienced this with a 2 week old chick. Not sure how it was injured, but one day he/she was not able to use one leg. Hopped around and used its wing to help. No injury to be seen, no tendon slip, just couldn't use its leg.

We separated him/her with a little cage, but kept him/her with broody momma and her brood. We just moved the little cage around the run, but mom kept the brood close.

We also gave the chick 1/4 tablet of vit B complex. We did this for about 5 days and the limp was gone. On day 3 we were able to let the chick out of the cage and by day 5 we could no long tell which chick was injured so we stopped the vit b complex.

It has been about 4 days and all is well.

Hope you chick gets better soon.
