I noticed one of the ducks standing oddly. He had dis neck coiled back and resting on his chest. I thought impacted crop. He does also have serve bumblefoot that I am tackling. Have got him on poultry cell and trying to get him to eat. He’s receiving pain relief also. He will only take a very small amount of food and then soaks it. He’s lost weight. When doing his meds I am putting water into him to make sure he’s hydrated. My problem is what is going on with his neck and how can I help him. I will post pics to see if anyone has any advice. He does stand most of the time and seems too heavy. Today he has staggered a few times and fell.

Hello, I’m so sorry to hear about your duck. He is very handsome. It does look like he might have something going on with his neck. How is he doing tonight?

@Jenbirdee do you know what might be up? Does this seem like wry neck in ducks?

He’s ok, made a liquid feed for him n syringed it in. Not sure if lack of food is cause of his wobbling or not. If it’s not something I can help with him then the farm guy will just cull him. But I want to give him a chance but not cause prolong suffering. He tries to preen but can’t go past start of his wings😔 thank you

I don’t see anything wrong with his neck in any of those pictures.
The poultry cell vitamins are very good and liquid food is easier for him to eat however, you must be so careful syringing anything into his mouth because it can go down the trachea into his lungs very easily. I will share a link that shows how to give medicine to chickens and ducks without choking them.
Does he live inside all of the time or does he ever get outside to dig in the dirt and get some grit in his diet grit is like tiny pieces of rocks that sit in there gizzard and break down the food they eat without any grit they cannot digest their food. You can buy a bag of grit at the Feed store if he lives inside, give him a dish of it on the side of his food, not in his food.

And this is video how to tube feed - if they refuse to eat at all, then tube feeding may be necessary

He is an outside duck.only inside to treat him. I have couple others inside so he’s not on his own. I have just moved my ones to where he is. He’s not had much dealing with people. So very skitterish. Bandage is on both feet as he’s got bad bumblefoot so wondering if that infection has spread. No swelling or that on legs, just big bumble. He was fine one day and by next morning was standing strange. I do have an avian vet that I use but don’t get paid till next week and the guy that owns him would rather cull than pay big vet bill.
I will have a look at the videos as don’t want to do him more harm. It’s just the big lump bit at front I thought wasn’t right.
I will get a pic of poo, he’s not doing lots since not eating much. Will put pic in of the bumblefoot. It’s worst I have seen. Thank you so much for your time helping me x

How are you treating the bumble? Epsom salt water soaks? I would soak for 30 minutes or more in a 5 gallon bucket with lid that has a hole cut in the lid for the Ducks head to pop up. LukeWarm water not too hot. Then apply generous amount of this if you can get it

And cover with gauze pad and vet wrap. Keeping the duck inside on soft bedding I would do this for a few days until that big black piece gets loose enough to start peeling it off. You’re going to have to get that off and get all the kernel out and then fill the hole with antibiotic ointment that does not contain pain relief. And continue to wrap and change bandage daily. I did every other day instead of daily and it was OK.
