Insect Bites or Fireant Stings?

I noticed today that all my naked necks have bumps of the same size all over their necks, many of which are scabbed over.
Are they insect bites or fire ants? I do have fire ants in my yard, though I reduced their mounds by quite a bit, but I don't see any visible mounds near the run nor have I seen any inside the run either.

The only flying insects I seen in the run are small, regular house flies and the occasional red wasp.
I do have chiggers in my yard but I do have a good large tire sand bath that they use.

They don't look uncomfortable and I don't see any other health effects, should I be concerned or is this to be expected of having Naked Necks in the South?

Do you have pictures? If mosquitoes are a problem, it might be fowl pox scabs, a virus carried by mosquitoes. If it is fowl pox, the virus lasts about 3 weeks, and most get better with some immunity against it in the future. Pox scabs should be left alone and not handled, which can spread the virus. Here is a link with pictures of fowl pox:

I don't think that's it, here's a pic.

The only thing I saw on any of the chickens' waddle or combs was on my crested cream legbar. she has one bump on the end of her comb but I thought she might have injured it bumping into something.

Maybe Fowlpox might look different on naked necks because of their featherless necks? but those pics do look closer to what they have.

We do have some mosquitos here and there are others that own chickens nearby.

That's a tough one. I does look very similar to Fowl Pox that the Turkey has in the photo.

So, it may be Fowl Pox. If not, then bites from something else?

You can monitor to see if the lesions heal up on their own. I don't think it would hurt to paint them with Iodine to see if that helps them heal up faster and if it's Fowl Pox, that's what's normally used on skin lesions.

They are looking much better today. Most of the bumps are gone with only the larger scabs present, so it must have been fowlpox.

Adding garlic mineral salt to the water helped speed things up a bit I think.
