Installing Fan

I installed a fan in my hovabator. I have it blowing up to circulate air instead of down to blow directly on the eggs. Is this the right way?

I cut little 1/2" chunks of rubber tubing, like fuel line from the shop. This allowed me some space between the fan and the top of the lid or the side of the box. I've done a couple of these, various ways.

The fan came with little spacers. After I got it installed I wondered if I should have turned it around, but with the spacers it should work. I hope.
