It is amazing to me that ducks that are raised indoors can know how to be a duck. The 2 ducks I have the mom didn't want them. One duck I hatched from the egg and the other duck spent 5 days with the mom and she was trying to drown him. Im sure the second duck is teaching the first duck so when they get released they will stick together and look out for each other I hope. I rescured a duck from a hunters duck farm who sells them for hunters to train their dogs and he found a family and is just fine.

I was saying something similar to my hubby just a few days ago, how amazing animals are with their instinctive behaviors. All our ducks are artificially incubated and are never exposed to other older ducks until they're around a month old. Yet, the still go right for water to clean themselves, preen, flap around trying to fly, just so many amazing things they do that were never taught to them.

I love ducks!!!
