Integrate 2 new better than one lone one?

3x6 is 18 square feet, how tall is the coop. I don't know why, people always talk square footage, but space is three dimensional. It depends on your chickens, and what your set up exactly looks like, a rule of thumb is 4 sq feet per bird, so with 18 sq feet, you should have 4-5 birds. I agree, the 7th bird will cause more trouble than it is worth.

The coop has two roosts, could add another. Height of coop is 5'. Two nests boxes but on the outside, and large window in coop.

This is true...BUT.....height can only be utilized if width and/or length of coop is adequate.

Height is important for ventilation and can add 'floor space' (places for chickens to be).

But if there is not room to fly/jump down from higher places,
without crashing into a wall or something else....
...that height can be made moot by the small foot print of coop.

They do have spacing between the staggered roosts to fly up and down. The roosts are 2 x 4, and are 33" long each.

Ta da. I switched things up today. Made a bigger temporary run and now have two 12 week blue cochin. Still have the older light brahma, speckled sussex and one 12 week old speckled sussex from before. Will keep the two batches separate for a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed
