I just bought a flock of Ancona ducks from a woman who was downsizing. She had a bonded set of 5 hens and 1 Drake. She also had 8 ducklings. I've got them separated where they can see each other. I tried to place them together after a day but the alpha female wouldn't let my other 4 get close to her flock. Was wondering how long I should keep them separate. The babies were separated at the recommendation of their previous owner due to the drake being to aggressive towards them and are currently with my juvenile who has taken to brooding them.

You will probably have to wait until they are older and look more like an adult than a duckling. It is easier to integrate then.
How old are the ducklings?

The adults I just brought home are between 18-21 months old. The original ducks are about 8 months old. The babies that are with my juvenile are 3 days and the juvenile is 6 weeks. It's the 2 groups of older ducks I'm trying to integrate. The babies are separate and safe.

I see. Thought you were trying to integrate the ducklings.
